About the Role

Our client is a QLD State government organization based in Maroochydore QLD. They are currently seeking an A07 Principal Advisor (Finance) to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 24/05/2027 with possible extensions.

Candidates for this role must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Similar OR CA/CPA qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management, including budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
  • SAP system experience would be advantageous
  • Previous government experience

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Reporting & Dashboard Development: Design, produce, and maintain comprehensive project financial reports and digital dashboards. This ensures all internal and external stakeholders receive data-driven insights tailored to specific reporting requirements.

  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Deliver high-level analysis to senior management and governance groups, providing clear explanations for budget variances, emerging trends, and the overall financial health of projects.

  • Cash Flow Management: Collaborate with regional finance teams to lead the monthly cash flow process, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent reporting cycles.

  • System Reconciliation & Compliance: Maintain data integrity by reconciling financial records across SAP, Oracle Primavera Unifier (3PCM), and other contract management tools, ensuring strict adherence to TMR policies and statutory requirements.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner effectively with Program/Project teams and external partners to gather data and provide the financial clarity needed to support complex project delivery.

  • Project Controls Leadership: Act as a senior member of the Project Controls team, driving project success through the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable financial intelligence.

About You

You will be an experienced Finance Advisor with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Similar
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management, including budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
  • SAP system experience would be advantageous
  • Previous government experience
